Restoring those rusty pop-up headlights:
While thinking on what type of engine rebuild/swap process to do, I decided to rebuild the headlights. As I was taking them apart I realized that the bolts had rusted pretty darn good. And this became a common theme throughout the restoration. Snapping bolts and lots and lots of rust. buy a tap-set! Once everything is dis-assembled, clean it up using a wire brush. The motors were cleaned up, headlight housing was cleaned and painted, and the holes were tapped for new bolts (I didn’t have the same size as original rusty bolts). New light-bulbs were purchased from NAPA and installed.
