DIY bike rack for the Toyota Matrix hatchback:
I decided that I needed a bike rack for my Toyota Matrix since I was tired of putting two bikes in and out of the car itself. After researching designs for hatchbacks, I found that they are all quite similar. I decided to make my own using my new MIG welder. The first step was to draw up some designs.
The next step was to make a mock-up unit from cheap wood and brackets. This proof of concept helped me figure out dimensions for the final unit.
