Combating rust on your MR2:
During the winter my car developed some rust spots on the wheel arches. Also the passenger front quarter panel was falling apart in one corner. Finally, remember those holes in the floor pan that I had welded up? well the underside still had gaps in the protective covering, so I decided to patch those up using fiberglass.
All in all, the experience taught me that I hate working with fiberglass and resin, the stuff just wont hold a shape, especially when working upside down. However, bondo is freakin great. I love that stuff.
I had to order new paint, you can find the color codes for the older toyota models somewhere on this forum. Unfortunately since my car is two-tone I had to order twice as much paint as a solid color car would need. I believe I ordered from automotivetouchup.
